Overview
There are several types of thyroid disease, including:
- Hypothyroidism – This is a condition in which the thyroid gland does not produce enough thyroid hormone. This can cause a number of symptoms, including weight gain, fatigue, and depression.
- Hyperthyroidism – This is a condition in which the thyroid gland produces too much thyroid hormone. This can cause a number of symptoms, including weight loss, anxiety, and heart palpitations.
- Thyroid nodules – These are lumps or masses that form in the thyroid gland. Most thyroid nodules are benign (not cancerous), but some may be cancerous.
- Thyroid cancer – This is a type of cancer that develops in the thyroid gland.

Symptoms & Diagnosis
